About This Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Rahul Kumar Gupta, trading as SRS Tech ("we", "our", or "us"), of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, handles information when you use PixelPlay, an iOS application we develop and publish.
By downloading or using PixelPlay, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What PixelPlay Does, and Does Not Do
PixelPlay is a personal media player. It plays video streams from sources you provide (M3U playlists, Xtream Codes portals, or the optional free public catalog from iptv-org).
- We do not host, provide, or pre-load any video content.
- We do not know what you watch.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not sell any personal information.
Information We Collect
If you use the app without signing in (Guest mode):
- Anonymous usage events via Firebase Analytics (e.g. "app launched", "channel played"). No personally identifiable information is attached. Firebase Analytics also derives a coarse, city-level location from your IP address for aggregate reporting; we don't link this to your identity.
- Crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. These include device model, iOS version, and a stack trace. They don't include any user identity.
- App preferences and your watch history stay locally on your device only; we never upload them.
- For channels in the free public catalog, the app reports an aggregate play-and-failure count per channel so we can flag streams that have stopped working. It is a per-channel tally, not a per-person one: no account, no device identifier, nothing that ties a count to you. Channels from your own M3U or Xtream sources are never included.
- Nothing you save leaves the device while you are in Guest mode. Favorites, locked channels and locked categories stay local until you sign in, and only then are they uploaded.
If you sign in (optional):
- Your email address and display name from Google or Apple Sign-In, stored in Firebase Authentication to identify your account.
- This enables account management features such as deleting your account and its data, and it syncs your favorites and locked channels/categories across every device signed in to the same account. We store this in Firebase and/or your private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), depending on your setup.
Xtream / M3U source credentials (if you add them):
- Your Xtream portal URL and username are stored locally on your device in the app's database.
- Your Xtream password is stored in your device's secure Keychain, never in plain text and never uploaded to our servers.
How We Use Your Information
- Analytics: To understand how the app is used in aggregate and improve features.
- Crash reporting: To identify and fix stability issues.
- Account management: To identify your account so you can delete your data on request.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose not listed above.
Third-Party Services
PixelPlay uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google): firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Sign-In: policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple Sign-In: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Apple iCloud (CloudKit): when you're signed in, used to sync your favorites and locked channels/categories to your own private iCloud account. Governed by apple.com/legal/privacy
- ipapi.co: called to work out which country you are in so the catalog can lead with local channels. It receives your IP address and nothing else.
- epgshare01.online: supplies the programme guide for public-catalog channels, requested by country.
- Channel reliability and free-to-air lists hosted on GitHub: fetched to mark channels that are likely offline.
- iptv-org public catalog (optional, user opt-in), open-source channel metadata. We do not share your data with iptv-org.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local data (preferences, watch history, source credentials) stays only on your device, and removing the app deletes all of it. Settings → Data Management → Clear History & Favorites clears your favorites, recently watched and locks. It does not touch your sources: deleting a source is what removes its portal URL, username and saved password.
Favorites and locks: in Guest mode these exist only on your device, so there is nothing on our side to delete. Once you sign in they sync to Firebase and/or your private iCloud account, and stay there until you remove them or use Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Account data (if you're signed in) stays in Firebase and/or your private iCloud account until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app; this permanently removes your account data from Firebase and your private iCloud database.
Analytics and crash data: Firebase retains this according to its own policies (about 2 months for Analytics, 90 days for Crashlytics).
Children's Privacy
PixelPlay isn't for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child gave us personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@srstech.in. You can also delete your account directly in-app from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
Security
The iOS Keychain stores Xtream credentials with hardware-backed encryption. Firebase services use industry-standard TLS encryption for data in transit. No transmission method is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Each update changes the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use PixelPlay after an update means you accept the revised policy.
